Westridge is a secluded community in west Edmonton, tucked between two ravines and accessible only by one entrance point, Wolf Willow Road at 170 Street. Westridge was originally the Wolf Willow Farm, and the names of the streets in the community reflect this, whether it’s the central Wolf Willow Road or the words ‘wolf’, ‘willow’, or simply the letter ‘w’. The community’s boundaries are found at 170 Street to the west, the Patricia Ravine to the north, the Wolf Willow ravine to the south, and the North Saskatchewan river valley in the south-east, where a narrow part of Westridge finally meanders eastward between the ravines.

Most of the development in Westridge took place throughout the 1970s. Some infill continues to be built today, taking full advantage of the river valley views, abundant ravine frontage, and quiet cul-de-sacs. Westridge homes for sale are almost entirely single-family detached homes, dominating over 90% of the real estate. Besides this, there are two small townhouse complexes overlooking the ravines. The population of Westridge is 1,355, and the vast majority of residents are long-term homeowners, with a typical household income well above the city-wide average.

Westridge’s location allows easy access to many industrial employment areas throughout the west end, the West Edmonton Mall immediately north, downtown Edmonton, and many other parts of west and south Edmonton via the nearby Whitemud Drive. Many commercial amenities, besides those at West Edmonton Mall, can be found at The Marketplace at Callingwood, located just a little west of Westridge. Here, you’ll find a Safeway, Shoppers Drug Mart, farmer’s market, liquor, banks, food options, and much more. Further, beside the entrance to Westridge at 170 Street, a small plaza offers community-level conveniences, including a Starbucks, spa, salon, food, bank, and gas.  

Besides the primary feature of the abundant surrounding greenspace offered by the ravines and river valley, the beautiful views and trails, there is also a park located centrally within Westridge, offering a playground, sports fields, skating rink, basketball and tennis courts, and the Westridge Wolf Willow Country Club Community League. Further facilities available nearby, in Callingwood, include the Callingwood Twin Arenas, a branch of the Edmonton Public Library, a skate park, splash park, and YMCA.

Grace Assembly Full Gospel Church is found on Wolf Willow Road, as well as the Beth Israel Synagogue. There are no schools within Westridge, though residents are well-served by nearby schools: Patricia Heights School, Hillcrest School, Elmwood School, HE Beriault Catholic Junior High School, Thorncliffe Elementary School, St. Justin Catholic School, Callingwood Elementary School, Talmud Torah School, and Blessed Oscar Romero Catholic High School.
