Virginia Park is a small community in east central Edmonton. The community’s boundaries are found at 76 Street to the west, Borden Park Road to the north, Wayne Gretzky Drive to the east, and the river valley to the south. The community also encloses Borden Park. Virginia Park began development as early as 1910, with construction progressing through the 1960s. Some infill construction continues even today, which has resulted in a wide range of construction dates for the homes in the community. Around half of the Virginia Park real estate is made up of single-family detached homes, while the other half is contained in a cluster of low-rise apartments in the west part of Virginia Park. The population of Virginia Park is 731, with residents primarily being renters.

Virginia Park’s location allows easy access to NAIT, Grant MacEwan, and University of Alberta, while downtown Edmonton is also just a short drive away. Concordia University is contained within Virginia Park. The community has excellent transit connections, including an LRT station just west of Virginia Park. There are numerous commercial amenities near Virginia Park, including the large Kingsway Mall and the commercial centres of greater downtown Edmonton. Within adjacent Cromdale, you'll find a plaza with a Save On Foods and several food options, as well as other stores and services. Virginia Park contains extensive green space, most obviously the large Kinnaird Ravine and the North Saskatchewan River Valley, as well as the large Borden Park. This park offers a playground, sports fields, picnic facilities, gardens, and tennis courts. The only school in Virginia Park is Virginia Park School, though Eastglen School and St. Alphonsus Catholic Elementary/Junior High School are also found nearby. Other notable landmarks in Virginia Park include Concordia Lutheran Seminary and Bellevue Community League.
