Rosslyn is a community in northwest Edmonton, developed primarily through the 1950s and 60s. The boundaries of Rosslyn are found at 137 Avenue in the north, 132 Avenue in the south, 97 Street to the east, and 113a Avenue to the west. Most of the homes here, approximately 70%, are fully detached single-family homes. Semi-detached units, row houses, and low-rise apartments make up the remainder of the housing units within the neighbourhood. There are also some commercial uses, mainly along the 97 Street corridor, with some community-level convenience uses along 134 Avenue within Rosslyn. The population of the community is 2,975, with most of the residents being homeowners.
Rosslyn’s location allows easy access to various parts of Edmonton via Yellowhead Trail, as well as downtown Edmonton via 97 Street. A full range of shopping is found around 97 Street and 137 Avenue, to the northeast, with a T&T Supermarket, Safeway, Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs, Indigo, banks, food, coffee, and many other stores and services located in Northgate Centre, North Town Centre, and the surrounding areas. Rosslyn contains numerous parks and greenspaces, many offering facilities such as playgrounds, sports fields, and a skating rink and splash park located near the Rosslyn Community League building. Rosslyn School, Rosecrest School, and Scott Robertson School are within Rosslyn, while the Ecole Pere Lacombe School is found immediately south in Lauderdale. The Grand Trunk Fitness and Leisure Centre is also located in Lauderdale, providing an arena, tennis courts, fitness centre, pool, and a large park with a variety of sports fields.
