Richfield is a small community in south-east Edmonton, named to reflect the productivity of the Mill Woods area when it was used for agricultural purposes. The community’s boundaries are found at 91 Street to the west, Mill Woods Road to the east and north, and 34 Avenue to the south. Richfield was originally developed in the 1970s, and is made up of 40% single-family detached homes and more than 50% higher-density housing units including row-housing, low-rise apartments and condos, and duplexes. The population is 3,320, with Richfield residents split between homeowners and renters.

91 Street provides Richfield residents with easy access to many industrial employment areas throughout south and east Edmonton to the north, as well as many parts of southeast and southwest Edmonton via the nearby Anthony Henday Drive ring road. Richfield does not offer any services locally, however, it is one of four communities that comprise the larger Millbourne Community which is served by the large Millbourne Market Mall, located centrally between these communities. Along with this Millbourne Market Mall, which offers Safeway, Petro-Canada, Shoppers Drug Mart, multiple restaurants, banks and numerous other food, stores, services and more, residents have a short drive to further health, commercial, recreational and educational services around Mill Woods Town Centre and South Edmonton Common. Alongside the various sports fields, a basketball court, skating rink, and playgrounds offered by the schools, Grace Martin School and St. Elizabeth Elementary School, in Richfield Park, Richfield was designed with various intersecting pathways continuing through a pipeline right-of-way to promote pedestrian and bicycle travel within the community. Mill Woods All-Nations Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Markaz-Ul-Islam Mosque, and the Leefield Community League are located within Richfield.
