Miller is named for Abe William Miller, a Hungarian-born lawyer, politician, and community volunteer. After moving to Edmonton, he practiced law for 40 years, served as a member of City Council for six years, and served two years as a member of the Alberta Legislature. Miller’s boundaries are at 50 Street to the west, 153 Avenue to the north, and Manning Drive to the southeast. The community was developed during the 1990s and 2000s, with a variety of housing opportunities. More than half of the homes are single-family detached houses, mostly in the northern part of the community, while there are also duplex complexes and condo buildings nearer the south part of Miller. These are within walking distance of the Clareview LRT station across Manning Drive, and there are also several commercial uses in this area. Miller’s population is 3,166, with a large number of younger families and home owners.

Miller’s location allows easy access to Fort Saskatchewan and the Anthony Henday Drive ring road, as well as downtown Edmonton and other parts of northeast Edmonton. Miller Park forms a part of the interconnected green spaces in the northern part of the community, offering a playground and sports fields. Located in the south part of Miller are a pharmacy, food and coffee, a Servus bank, police station, community health centre, and long-term care facility, as well as the Kingsway Legion where the Miller Crossing Farmers’ Market sets up shop. Further shopping is nearby at the Clareview Town Centre. Nearby churches include the North Edmonton Alliance Church, the St. Michael & All Saints Anglican Church, and Emmaus Lutheran Church, while nearby schools are the McLeod School, Steele Heights School, St. Dominic Catholic Elementary, JJ Bowlen Junior High School, and Edmonton Christian Northeast School.
