Michaels Park is a small community in south east Edmonton, within Mill Woods, named in honour of John Michaels, who was involved in community service for 50 years and was best known for his promotion of aviation and the north country. The community’s boundaries are found at 76 Street to the west, 66 Street to the east, 38 Avenue to the south, and Whitemud Drive to the north. Michaels Park was originally developed in the 1970s and is made up of more than half single-family detached homes, with the remaining residences consisting of low-rise apartments and condos, duplexes, and row housing. The population is 2,220, with Michaels Park residents split between homeowners and renters.

The location of Michaels Park allows for easy access to many industrial employment areas throughout south and east Edmonton, including the adjacent industrial park north of Whitemud Drive, and Mill Woods Town Centre just south on 66 Street. An LRT station in the south-east corner of Michaels Park is scheduled to open in 2020. Not only does Michaels Park offer such amenities as a Dodge dealership, Esso gas Station, Kabayan Filipino Store, and more, but together with three adjoining neighbourhoods, it is part of the Millbourne Community, which has a community-level shopping facility at the centre. This adjacent Millbourne Mall offers a Safeway, Shoppers Drug Mart, Petro Canada, several health care practitioners, multiple restaurants, banks and numerous other food options, stores, services and more. Many further commercial amenities can be found nearby at Mill Woods Town Centre and South Edmonton Common. Michaels Park was designed with strategically placed pathways, including along a pipeline right-of-way, to promote pedestrian and bicycle travel within the community. These pathways connect to a central park that offers a hockey rink in the winter, baseball diamonds, a basketball court, playground and various other sports fields. A portion of the the centrally located multi-purpose open space and recreational area in Michaels Park will be redeveloped as low- to medium-density housing as part of the City of Edmonton’s first-time home buyers' program. The Mill Woods Golf Course is located to the east across 66 Street. Edith Rogers Junior High School, Malcolm Tweddle School and Lee Ridge School are all located in neighbouring communities.
