Kiniski Gardens, a small community in south-east Edmonton and within Mill Woods, is named in honour of Polish-born Julia Kiniski, a dedicated local politician who ran for election as a city alderman 10 times before she finally succeeded in 1963. She was only the third woman in Edmonton's history to hold a seat on the council. Kiniski Gardens was designed in a triangle pattern, with its boundaries being 34 Street to the east, a utility corridor to the northwest that has been developed into an open green space, and part of the Mill Creek Ravine to the southwest. Kiniski Gardens was originally developed in the 1970s, and is made up of more than 90% single-family detached homes, with a limited number of low-rise apartments and row housing scattered throughout. The population is 6,080, with the majority of Kiniski Gardens residents owning their homes.

The location of Kiniski Gardens allows for easy access to many industrial employment areas throughout south and east Edmonton, as well as Whitemud Drive via 34 Street. The residents of Kiniski Gardens are serviced by a small commercial site which offers CBI Health Centre, Car Wash Express, a 7-Eleven, Petro Canada, places to eat, and more. Many further commercial amenities can be found nearby at Mill Woods Town Centre, RioCan Meadows, and South Edmonton Common. Recreational opportunities for Kiniski Gardens residents include easy access to the Mill Creek Ravine, the open green space of the utility corridor, Kulawy Lake, Creek's Crossing Park, and a secondary park that is the home to Julia Kiniski School, The Burnewood Community League Hall, a skating rink, playground, baseball diamonds, and other sports fields. Creek's Crossing Park offers residents the St. Kateri Catholic School, a playground, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, and more.
