Hollick-Kenyon is named after a pilot who flew over Antarctica as part of a first mapping of the area, following the general naming pattern of the Pilot Sound area in northeast Edmonton. The community is bounded by 167 Avenue to the north, the Brintnell community to the east around 50 to 55 Streets, 153 Avenue to the south, and the Matt Berry community to the west around 60 Street. Hollick-Kenyon’s development occurred primarily through the 90s, comprising a mix of different types of homes: approximately 60% of the community is made up of single-family detached homes, 25% low-rise condo buildings, and the remainder being duplexes and townhouses. The majority of the residents of Hollick-Kenyon own their homes, with a high proportion being longer-term residents. The population of Hollick-Kenyon is 6,136.

Hollick-Kenyon’s location offers easy access to the Anthony Henday Drive, which connects drivers easily to St Albert, Sherwood Park, CFB Edmonton at Namao, and other parts of the city. The nearby Manning Drive also connects directly to Fort Saskatchewan. Hollick-Kenyon has a large lake near the centre of the community, with multi-use trails and other green spaces connecting throughout. The Hollick-Kenyon Park is also located near the lake, with a playground and the large Dr. Donald Massey School. The Edmonton Northeast Christian School is also located immediately adjacent to Hollick-Kenyon’s west boundary. Immediately north of Hollick-Kenyon along 167 Avenue, a variety of amenities including a Save-On-Foods, Sobeys, Petro-Canada, Shoppers Drug Mart, Pet Valu, a gym, a branch of the Edmonton Public Library, banks, and other stores and services are easily accessible. Also, at the southwest corner of Hollick-Kenyon is found a small plaza with a Starbucks and several other services. The Little Mountain Cemetery and Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses are located at the east edge of the community.
