Hairsine is a community in northeast Edmonton, named for Albert Hairsine, who was the first mayor of the Town of Beverly. The community’s boundaries are found at 36 Street to the west, 137 Avenue to the south, 144 Avenue to the north, and Victoria Trail to the east. Development in Hairsine took place throughout the 1970s and 80s, with around 70% of Hairsine real estate being low-rise apartment buildings and townhouses, while the remainder of the residences are single-family detached homes. Hairsine’s population is 2,434, with most residents owning their homes.

Hairsine’s location allows easy access to other parts of the city via Yellowhead Trail, including many industrial employment areas, and downtown Edmonton is also easily accessible via 50 Street or the nearby Clareview LRT station. Many commercial amenities can be found along 50 Street and 137 Avenue, within the Clareview Town Centre immediately west of Hairsine. Further community-level services, such as a Sobeys, drug store, gas, and food options, are immediately south of Hairsine. Located centrally are Hairsine Park, offering a playground and sports fields, the Hairsine Community League with two skating rinks, and two schools: John D. Bracco School and St. Bonaventure Elementary School. The large Clareview Community Recreation Centre and a branch of the Edmonton Public Library are adjacent to Hairsine.
