Grandisle is a newly-approved community in far south-west Edmonton, within the Riverview area plan. Grandisle's boundaries are found at 199 Street to the north-west, Winterburn Road (215 Street) to the west, and the North Saskatchewan River valley to the south-east. The community plan was established in 2016, and the community has yet to begin development. Much of the community already contains existing acreage properties bordering the river valley. The development plan of Grandisle calls for primarily residential use, with some local commercial use in different parts of the community. The population of the entire Riverview area at the 2016 census was only 446, being existing rural residents in the area.

Grandisle's location allows easy access to south and west Edmonton, as well as around the outskirts of the city, via the adjacent Anthony Henday Drive ring road. This route offers a quick commute to numerous industrial and commercial employment areas. Commercial amenities will found nearby and within the community, including a district-level commercial plaza along 199 Street and several surrounding convenience plazas. Further commercial development is continuing in the area, as well as to the north along Winterburn Road or 199 Street. A little further, within Windermere or Lessard, you'll find more amenities, or at the large West Edmonton Mall. The River Cree Casino and Resort is located nearby, a little to the north along Winterburn Road. Extensive green space is planned within Grandisle, beginning with an urban village park and continuing into the North Saskatchewan River valley, which also offers abundant green space and recreational opportunities. There are no schools planned within Grandisle, though a total of four schools are planned within the greater Riverview area. Two schools already exist within the nearby community of The Hamptons; Sister Annata Brockman Elementary/Junior High School and Bessie Nichols School.
