Glenridding Heights is a community in far south-west Edmonton, within the Windermere area. Glenridding Heights' boundaries are found at Ellerslie Road to the north, 170 Street to the west, and Rabbit Hill Road to the south-east. The community began development in the 2010s, continuing today. Roughly three-quarters of the real estate here is made up of single-family detached homes, with the remaining quarter made up of duplexes. The population at the 2016 census was 1,374, with the vast majority of Glenridding Heights residents being homeowners.
Glenridding Heights' location allows easy access across south and west Edmonton via the nearby Anthony Henday Drive ring road, and the nearby Calgary Trail also provides a quick commute to Nisku, Leduc, and the Edmonton International Airport. Many commercial amenities are found nearby, including Currents at Windermere, located a little north of Glenridding Heights. Here, you'll find a Walmart, Safeway, London Drugs, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Cabelas, Staples, a VIP Cineplex Odeon, as well as further stores, services, banks, eateries, and more. More services are located along Ellerslie Road to the east, and South Edmonton Common is also located nearby. Extensive green space exists within Glenridding Heights, including a pond, multi-use trails, and park area. A district park is also planned here, and the Whitemud Creek Ravine is close. Three golf courses are in the area. Dr. Margaret-Ann Armour School, Constable Dan Woodall School and St. John XXIII Catholic School are in adjacent communities.
