Glenora, Crestwood, Parkview, and Laurier Heights are located in central west Edmonton. These communities are among some of the oldest in Edmonton, with development beginning in the early 1900s and completing in the 1950s and 60s. Several parks, natural areas, and ravines can be found within these communities, as well as the banks of the North Saskatchewan River with all the amenities and parkland this area has to offer. the Edmonton Valley Zoo is within Laurier Heights, and Fort Edmonton Park and Hawrelak Park are located directly across the river.
Glenora School, Westminster School, St. Vincent School, Progressive Academy, Crestwood School, Parkview School, St. Rose School, and Laurier Heights School are found within the communities, as well as numerous churches.
