Ermineskin is a community in south Edmonton, named for the Cree Chief Ermineskin of Hobbema. The community's boundaries are found at Calgary Trail to the east, 111 Street to the west, 23 Avenue to the south, and a utility corridor to the north beyond 29 Avenue. Ermineskin was developed primarily in the 1970s and 80s, though a portion in the west around the new Century Park LRT station has been recently redeveloped, with further construction planned, including high-rise buildings. The community is made up of nearly 90% medium-density housing units, split between townhouses and low- to mid-rise apartment and condo buildings. The remainder are single-family detached homes. The population is 5,241, with Ermineskin residents mostly being renters.

Ermineskin's location allows easy access to much of south and west Edmonton via Whitemud Drive and Calgary Trail, and downtown Edmonton is just a short drive away along Gateway Boulevard. Good transit connections are available with the Century Park LRT station at the west edge of the community. Many commercial amenities can be found nearby along the Calgary Trail/Gateway Boulevard corridor, including a Superstore, Save-On-Foods, T&T Supermarket, Homesense, Winners, Petland, Chapters, JYSK, Walmart, and numerous other stores, services, food options, banks, and more. A small shopping plaza is also located within the community, including a Safeway and boutique stores and services. The large Southgate Centre is located nearby, as well as Whitemud Crossing. There is a large central park area within Ermineskin, offering a playground, sports fields, and picnic facilities. St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital is located near the park, as well as several churches. Steinhauer School, Keheewin School, and St. Theresa Catholic School are located nearby.
