Duggan is a community in south Edmonton, named for J. J. Duggan, a pioneer and mayor of Edmonton’s early rival, the City of Strathcona. He once owned much of the land that now makes up the community. The community’s boundaries are found at Calgary Trail to the east, 111 Street to the west, 40 Avenue to the north, and 34 Avenue to the south. Duggan was developed primarily in the 1960s and 70s, continuing into the 80s. The community is made up of 60% single-family detached homes, with a further 10% of townhouses and 30% low-rise apartments and condos. This higher-density development is mostly found in the centre of the community, along 106 Street. The population is 4,533, with Duggan residents mostly being homeowners.

Duggan's location allows easy access to much of south and west Edmonton via Whitemud Drive and Calgary Trail, and downtown Edmonton is just a short drive away along Gateway Boulevard. Good transit connections lead to the two nearby LRT stations. Many commercial amenities can be found nearby along the Calgary Trail/Gateway Boulevard corridor, including a Superstore, Save-On-Foods, T&T Supermarket, Homesense, Winners, Petland, Chapters, JYSK, Walmart, and numerous other stores, services, food options, and more. The large Southgate Centre is located nearby, as well as Whitemud Crossing. There is a large central park area within Duggan, offering playgrounds, sports fields, a skating rink, and the community's two schools: Duggan Elementary School and St. Augustine Catholic Elementary School. DS Mackenzie Junior High School and Harry Ainlay High School are both located in adjacent communities.
