Casselman is named after a prominent lawyer and from the early 20th century who lived and worked in Edmonton. Casselman extends from 144 Avenue north to 153 Avenue south, and from 50 Street west to 58 Street where it meets the community of McLeod. The development of Casselman happened over several decades starting in the 1970s and continuing into the 2000s. Casselman consists of a blend of single-family homes and multi-unit dwellings, as well as substantial recreation spaces and appealing pedestrian pathways throughout the neighbourhood.
