Callingwood North is a community in west Edmonton. The community’s boundaries are found at 170 Street to the east, 178 Street to the west, Whitemud Drive to the north, and 69 Avenue to the south. Callingwood North was developed through the 1970s, and the majority of Callingwood North is made up of medium and high-density development. This takes the form of townhouses and low-rise apartments, with some high-rise apartments and duplexes. Around 10% of the real estate across Callingwood North is made up of single-family detached homes. The population of Callingwood North is 2,376, and the residents are split between renters and homeowners.

Callingwood North’s location allows easy access to many industrial employment areas throughout the west end, the nearby West Edmonton Mall, downtown Edmonton, and many other parts of west and south Edmonton via Whitemud Drive. Many commercial amenities, besides those at West Edmonton Mall, can be found at The Marketplace at Callingwood, located in Callingwood South. Here, you’ll find a Safeway, Liquor Depot, Shoppers Drug Mart, a farmer’s market, convenience, food, banks, and other stores and services. The large Callingwood Park covers nearly half the land area of Callingwood North, and offers off-leash areas, a spray park, skate park, picnic sites, numerous sports fields, a tree stand, the Callingwood Twin Arenas, a recycling depot, a branch of the Edmonton Public Library, and a YMCA. Besides this, the park is also home to two schools, the Blessed Oscar Romero High School and Callingwood Elementary School. Also nearby are St. Martha School and Our Lady of the Prairies. Misercordia Community Hospital is located nearby, on 87 Avenue at 170 Street.
