Ambleside is a community in far south-west Edmonton, within the Windermere area. The community's name is taken from Ambleside in Cumbria, England. Ambleside's boundaries are found at Ellerslie Road to the south, Terwillegar Drive/170 Street to the west, the Anthony Henday corridor to the north, and the Whitemud Creek Ravine to the east. The community was developed beginning in the mid-2000s, continuing through the 2010s. Nearly half of the real estate here is made up of single-family detached homes, with a further 30% found in low-rise condos. Most of the remainder of homes in Ambleside are made up of duplexes and townhouses, with a high-rise complex rounding out Ambleside real estate options. The population is 4,437, with the majority of Ambleside residents being homeowners.

Ambleside's location allows easy access across south and west Edmonton via the nearby Anthony Henday Drive ring road, and the nearby Calgary Trail also provides a quick commute to Nisku, Leduc, and the Edmonton International Airport. Many commercial amenities are found nearby, including Currents at Windermere, located within Ambleside. Here, you'll find a Walmart, Safeway, London Drugs, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Cabelas, Staples, a VIP Cineplex Odeon, as well as further stores, services, banks, eateries, and more. More services are located along Ellerslie Road to the east, and South Edmonton Common is also located nearby. Extensive green space exists within Ambleside, including a half-dozen ponds, multi-use trails, parkland, and tree stands. A central park area offers a playground, picnic facilities, and sports fields. Three golf courses are located very close to Ambleside. Dr. Margaret-Ann Armour School is located within Ambleside, while Constable Dan Woodall School and St. John XXIII Catholic School are in an adjacent community.
